Revolutionizing the Bent’s Camp Radar Run: A Faster, Smoother Experience for Racers & Fans.
Every winter, Bent’s Camp Radar Run in Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin, draws thousands of snowmobilers and spectators to watch high-powered machines fly across the ice at speeds over 100 MPH. But this event isn’t just about speed, it’s also a fundraiser for the Land O’ Lakes Frosty Club, the local snowmobile club that keeps the area’s trail system running strong.
The Challenge: Slow, Manual Scorekeeping
For years, race results were tracked by hand on paper, leading to long waits, messy scorekeeping, and extra work for organizers. Racers had to wait to see their speeds, and spectators had no easy way to follow along in real time. It was clear the process needed an upgrade.
The Solution: Real-Time Race Tracking
This year, I built a real-time scoring system that transformed how results were recorded and shared. Here’s what changed:
✅ Instant Speed Results: Racers got their speeds immediately instead of waiting.
✅ Live Leaderboards: Spectators could check rankings from their phones in real time.
✅ Leaderboard on TV: The bar had a live leaderboard stream, so fans could see the fastest runs of the day.
✅ Smoother Event for Organizers: No more manual scorekeeping, which saved hours of work and made everything run way more efficiently.
